House in Kensington

This small townhouse in Kensington was in need of an innovative redesign to accommodate a young family.

The proposal looks to transform the spaces of the house through the insertion of new vertical circulation and bring more light deep into the plan through the creation of new openings in the rear facade. The primary living spaces are connected through the rear courtyard, which is designed as an additional outdoor living room for the home. The main staircase to the first floor is carefully designed to house a ground floor WC, store shoes, conceal pocket doors and connect the first-floor level with a family bathroom in the return.
