House in Wicklow

This project involves the construction of a new 5 bedroom dwelling on a Rural site in Wicklow, Ireland.

The home is built within the footprint of the ruins of the Client’s ancestral home and seeks to continue this narrative through a contemporary interpretation of the vernacular form. The walls of the central bungalow are built using the recovered stone from the existing ruins. The two structures off this main bungalow draw from the forms of the barn structures in the area and seek to knit the project within the surrounding dry stone walls to create a diverse series of walled gardens.
